Service Family Accommodation (SFA) Communications Update

  1. House of Commons Defence Committee Inquiry into Service accommodation (SFA/SLA), the government response was published last week. This report outlines the steps DIO are taking to improve our service to families and can be read in full here.

  1. Radio Teleswitch (RTS) Electricity Meters. DIO are concerned, certainly where there are families who have been in residence for some time, that they may be impacted if they do not change their meters to smart meters by 30 Jun 2025. DIO understand that families may have received comms from their suppliers but may not have acted on the requirement.

Service Personnel and families that pay for utilities themselves, and have an RTS meter, should expect to receive notice from their supplier/utility company. Families can also contact their suppliers directly if they believe they have an RTS meter to arrange an upgrade. SP/Families/SFA Occupants are responsible/encouraged to respond to any utility company actions intent letter/s.

A couple of months ago I was offered the opportunity to take on the vacant Barbers shop on site, an opportunity I grasped with both hands due to my 20 plus years in the hair industry and the prospects I believe it will bring.

I am excited to advise you all that after weeks of renovations I am in the position to open to customers from this Friday, on a booking only format using the QR code below.
