Chicksands Dog Policy
Visitor Access to Chicksands
Chicksands is a training establishment and has troops marching on the roads.
Drivers should ensure they allow sufficient time for any journey they are making on camp, to factor in the possibility they might be slowed by marching troops.
As there is limited parking on Site, all personnel are reminded that there are no reserved or allocated spaces in the SFA areas. Parking on double yellow lines/grassed areas, failing to display car passes and parking in the wrong car park is prohibited.
All offences will be recorded by the Guardroom.
Here are the key points for Chicksands dog policy. For further detail, please see leaflet 22 – pet animals on the Chicksands estate on Sharepoint.
Registration Approval to keep a pet animal in a work area does not automatically confer approval to keep the animal in the owner’s accommodation and vice versa.
Separate authorisations are required.
All dogs to be registered through UKStratCom-DI-DITG DogRegister@mod.gov.uk
Dogs must be prevented from causing a nuisance and fouling footpaths and grassed areas.
Owners are to remove their dog’s faeces and dispose of it in the special bins provided.
Dogs are to be kept on a lead at all times when outdoors on site. Extendable leads are permitted however dogs must be under control at all times.
‘Off-Leash’ areas are accessible to all, but please be respectful of others using the facility.
Wherever possible, the MPGS Security Control Point should be given advance notice, preferably 24 hours as a minimum, of any expected visitors or deliveries to DITG Chicksands.
Asda, Tesco’s, Morrisons, Ocado, Amazon, Hermes, DPD, Yodel, etc.
This requirement applies to both official visits and social visits to Service Families Accommodation (SFA) or Single Living Accommodation (SLA). Pre notification of visitors ensures a smoother processing of the visitor
and in most cases, negates the need for the visitor to be provided with an escort by the host.

Notification to the Security Control Point (Guardroom) can be made via telephone on Mil 94649 2333 or Civ 01462 752333 or via e-mail JITG-MPGS (MULTIUSER) DITG-MPGS-mailbox@mod.gov.uk
Due to the security category of DITG Chicksands, if a visitor or delivery driver is a foreign national the notice period required for advance visitor notification is 5 days.
If prior notification is not received, the visitor will be potentially denied access to DITG Chicksands.
